August Radio 2025 Alternative New Music

Twenty One Pilots started their fall tour a few weeks ago, so excited and honestly might go to NYCs or another stop lol. Papa Roach is starting in a few weeks and I am going! Turnstile is touring then doing an international run as well! Sombr has a tour coming up and then going international but also did a popup show in chinatown for his new album a few weeks ago lol. Green Day  is finishing up a south American run then doing a couple festivals, very jealous even though I have seen them before.

  Djo is touring as well as doing a few festivals. Foo Fighters is finishing up international shows. A Day to Remember is doing a run with Yellow Card and they are amazing live you, have to catch them. Good Charlotte is doing festivals. Sleep Theory is touring with Nevertel. The Lumineers has been on a huge run, them and Mumford have killed it. And Ramona Flowers is not touring. 

The Black Keys have been touring doing open pavilion shows. Wet Leg has a sold out tour, need to check them out. Three Days Grace is on the road with Badflower. Muse is finishing up in Asia. Almost Monday is with the Band Camino. Awolnation must have finished up their tour for 2025 and are doing a ship tour 2026. Rome formerly with Sublime is doing his own thing. Matt Maeson finishing his tour too I need to check him out. 

Wolf Alice is touring! Besides their popup shows and festivals, they are touring with the Jonas brothers, The All American Rejects. All time Low is doing festival sand their own tour with Mayday Parade. holy throwback, love. Verve Pipe is doing shows through the year.

 Smashing Pumpkins is on an asian tour. The Chili Peppers are not touring :( Mumford and Sons is on a fall tour then heading over to Europe. Beck is not touring. The Last Dinner Party is doing festivals the rest of the year! King Falcon is doing a lil tour, don't know much about them but check them out! Sublime is doing a few festivals and one offers to cap off the summer.

 What I love is that all the top played songs are 2025. Out of the top 20 there were only four songs from 2024 , Sombr's song, Jupiter by Almost Monday, and Barbarians Awolnation and Green Day's One Eye Bastard. All the new songs down below. 

 

Now there are more new songs on the Spotify playlists New Alt and Alt Now but radio has to be where the artists make money right? besides like touring and such? love the new music!

Edit: The last dinner party, rainbow kitten surprise I want to hear more from, love their sounds, they have distinct feels and love that. love new music and love learning about new acts, they should add more new artists.....

 

Honorable mention since it seems like an old song but great vibes almost like summer vibes, there really hasn't been a song of the summer it feels, Rufus Du Sol maybe or Jon summit or something....idk

Bad Omens Specter is awesome. 

Austin City Limits 2025

Day 1 Hozier is definitely the one to see. Luke, Cage, and Empire of the Suns all seem fine. Dr Dog was a chill vibe live. Role Model seems to be everywhere for the kids now. 

Good Neighbors seem like they would be good live. Honestav I have heard a couple of their songs on the radio too. 

Day 2 Sabrina is a must if you haven't seen her live and are looking for pop because I guarantee you know her songs and she puts on a good show . The Strokes are a great throwback and Djo is great live as is Doechii it seems! Pierce the Veil is great if you love alternative.

Modest Mouse is awesome, Marina is great to see if you haven't seen her. Magdalena Bay, Car Seat Headrest , Japanese Breakfast, and Backseat lovers I need to deep dive in. Zed's Dead and Sammy Virgi are awesome 

Day 3 Doja Cat is great I've, John summit is a cutie pie, feed not sure but see everywhere, Tpain is awesome live, Mk. Gee is huge I hear. Polo and Pan and Discolines I see everywhere. 

Royal the Serpents opened for Fall out boy a few years back, The Dare was fun live, Rainbow Kitten Surprise I feel like would be great live, Gigi Perez opened for Beach Weather.  

2025 lollapalooza Recap

Day 1 Luke Combs was amazing. Bringing out Alex Warren and their duet was perfect of Ordinary. Alexsucks I've heard good things about too. Same as Glass Beams. 

Didn't see Gracie Abrams but need to catch her one, day, know one song but love That's so True. Dom Dolla, May P, Barry Can't Swim, Cloonee I hear so much about. Mark Ambour I saw open with Alex Warren for teddy Swims and Shaboozey at this iHeart thing, crazy how time changes.

         

Day 2 Olivia was huge, so many people were obsessed. Djo was perfect, seeing him sing End of Beginning, Tpain is always awesome, foster the people seem like they would be good live. 

Bunt. is an artists coming up. The Dare was awesome live. The Beachers and The Wallows I want to get to know.

Day 3 Rufus Du Sol I need to see live again, I heard Doechii was awesome, she seems next up, Mk. Gee seems to be well liked, Marina was awesome, Chase & Status I wish I saw again but they played on the other side of the festival. Obviously Levity is huge and I have to see them sometime. 

 Day 4 Sabrina didn't see her but worked with her a number of times in NYC and always puts on a great show. Still Woozy was awesome at Coachella and probably here too. Gryffin and Sammi Virgi both are talked about. Katseye was talked about everywhere for the Kpop girlies. Maribou State they are so awesome live.
