Prom 2013
PROM
Helloo again everybody, as I've said, I'm going to talk about the thing girls dream about forever, just one of those high school memories that will last forever. Prom. Whether you like it or not, a majority of teenage girls will be in the position of experiencing this magical night called prom. Wait woah now, wait a minute, what exactly is prom??? glad you asked..
Prom: Urban Dictionary
From a girls point of view, there are many things prom could mean to a person but one of the main things in mind should be the amount of money spend!!! I mean, it is a veryy special night but it is only one night and lets be honest, are you ever going to where that exact outfit over and over again??? It's overkill if you are trying too hard with everything...
not exactly casual wear that you could wear the heck out of after the day is over.
The prom at my school is in a couple of months but everyone knows you have to get a date and everything planned and coordinated before hand. I say this because I didn't know this and I guess it's obviously something everyone knows....
How to get ready for prom
(totally not in order but how my brain functions...sorry)
1. who the heck are you gunna go with????
A guy?? A group of friends??? A group of friends and a guy?? Whoever it is with theses things take time to plan such as transportation, pictures, and everything to before party to after party. Just make sure you don't wait until the last minute to figure everything out.
2. DRESS
Now I'm jumping ahead to probably one of the funnest parts of prom, the selecting of the dress. Like I said before, you should probably budget yourself because prom gets very overwhelming... Now to find your special dress you might have to plan out where you want to look. Around where I live, a bunch of people shop at the same place and end up getting very similar dresses, you should search beforehand where you want to go to get variety of choices.
Now boutiques are super cute and provide a nice selection of dresses that aren't very pricey. The mall places will have nice dresses but be warned, when going to stores such as theses they might be a bit more money and other people may have them. Ask if the store keeps records of which dresses has been sold for which prom so you don't have an accidental twin.
Oh and online does provide GREAT options but they may be ridicuously high priced and when you buy them, you really never tried it on until you buy it, so you don't know how it looks on you.
Just make sure you are being sensible when shopping. But for senior prom just go all out because its your last year at high school. After all, it is prom :)
Sooo what dress type do you like???
I love the sweet heart dress type like the two below
Now this is the thing with shoppng online and shoppin with a friend or in my case my mama. I apologize if I just made myself just sound like a 5 year old, I promise you I'm 16! Anyways besides the point...these two dresses are very similar in style (lets not worry about the color) but they are sooo different. No not the color I mentioned before but the price. The one on the left is $400 and the one on the right is $100. I really loved the one on the left sooo much but you know when you fall in love with something the rest of the dresses really aren't the same...
Going out shopping was really the thing that showed me that there were other options out there. My prom dress is the one on the right. Not at all a bad price and veryy pretty as well.
I understand that its a big night and a day you will never forget but as long as you feel beautiful, nothing could ruin this day. The main thing to take away from this would be to make sure you are comfortable in the dress and it will be amazing.
3. (Hopefully you didn't forget I was counting but sorry!! the dress bit had to be the most important)
Have the greatest time of your life!!!
That overused phrase YOLO would be perfectly used in this instants. It's the only senior/junior prom you will ever be able to call your own. I'm not saying be wreckless YOLO but just make sure that you live it up. High schools going to go by in a blink of an eye so yeahh live life.
So that's just a little about prom from me at the moment. I'm not even sure where I'm going to do the rest of the prom day experience with nails, hair, makeup, or anything for that matter but buying a dress just got me in a promy mood. Sorry if this was completely unimformative, not an expert, I tried...oh well. Hopefully you learned at least something maybe...? yeah thanks!
Thanks for reading! I'll try to write something else soon!! xx

syn. "prom", "the prom"
1. Unusual American custom in which otherwise Puritanical just-say-no parents support, tolerate, approve of or feign ignorance and/or disapproval of teenage public drunkedness, destruction of hotel property and lewd behavior. 2. Akin to primitive tribal rituals, where young females are made to look as desirable as possible by hopeful parents, then turned over to spear-equipped young males. 3. The lame, parent-and-teacher-sponsored event preceeding a night of Animal-House-level debauchery at the town's Holiday Inn. 4. Liberally-applicable euphemism for losing one's virginity, out-drinking a sailor on shore leave, participating in one's first gang-bang or date rape, milking the football team's gnads dry, etc. 5. prevarication of ascension to manhood, by one's claiming to do any of the many aforedescribed acts in 4., oft used by the less worthy of the young males who by some force majeure managed to attend or coincidentally be at the same location as the event and/or activity.
1. (on being told his son fucked the stoned cheerleader from behind so hard that the balcony railing collapsed and they both landed in the pool) "C'mon officer, it's just prom night."
"Oh my gawd, owr dawter looked so stunning for the prom!" "Dude, after prom, Wendy's playing the woodwind section... know what Im' sayin'?" "So, did you have a good prom?" "Dude, the prom was AWESOME!"
Yepp thats prom I guess...
Seems a bit intense but I'm here to break it down for you just a bit, a little information on what I at least know about prom...
