Places I should Have Gone to More During the Summer (Eastern CT Edition)
I made this list so I don't forget certain restaurants and certain places for next summer. Half of these I loved and half of them I need to go to.
1. Mystic Market, Old Saybrook, CT
Not like a sit down dinner kind of place, more like the perfect lunch pick up spot, they have a variety of foods, pre-made dinner options, or in person sandwiches. More like a tastier place to pick up food, rather than a fast food place.
2. Jealous Monk, Mystic, CT
This picture just goes to show that patios can be doable for the winter and fall type weather, heck throw spring in there as well. Just add some fire pits outside and cornhole and other games and its kinda perfect. Theres a mystic carol sing that happens and honestly this place looks like the perfect place to go to afterwards. This place has good food and good company.
3. Black Sheep, Niantic, CT
Literally such a nice restaurant not too far away and good variety of food, and right near the boardwalk and beach area to walk around or even visit the farmers market. The sunsets are perfect right by the beaches.
4. Pink Basil, Mystic, CT
This whole Corona thing has really kind of made me love patio restaurants this summer and even though I really haven't gone out all the time during the summer, the Pink Basil you could make a day with. Grab food then go walk around Mystic Village: super cute and quaint.
5. Sunset Ribs, Waterford, CT
So the shutdown kind of changed the atmosphere around this place, I promise it's a good time. All the brand new 21 year olds go here on the weekend after 10pm but for dinners and stuff, great sunset spot, and good live music, dad music and stuff. It's a good spot.
6. Margarita's, Mystic, CT
More of a basic Mexican food place, has all the things though, fajitas, tacos, tequila, margaritas obviously and Taco Tuesday's.And Wednesday nights they used to have a DJ but who knows after all of this...
7. Cuckoo's Nest, Old Saybrook, CT
So I really actually might go to this place for dinner tonight because I haven't been here in a hot minute, but I remember coming here as a kid. Just a restaurant with some character, really good food, isn't a cookie cutter place but has the basic nachos and tacos if need be. Really good food.
8. Captain Scott's New London, CT
So this place has the best lobster rolls every, and like hot lobster rolls are the only way to eat them and also you have to get the clam fritters here. and they have a food truck that goes to farmers markets sometimes and other places. Really good food, that Youtuber Casey Neistat liked it too from what I hear.
9. The Deck, Westbrook, CT
So I only went here once with a college roommate and it was fun but 5pm on a week day, but this place was freakin huge, so like I feel it would be perfect for the summer, and I have to go visit this place, seems perfect for like music and vibes.
10. The Pavillion, Old Lyme, CT
This is what this summer should have looked like, beach, live music, drinks, and tan people. Still a great place and want to go next summer when things are back to normal.
