Green Day: like for sure they are meant to be huge, they have their own distinct sound, and they have stood the test of time, and evoked their sound to try new things, and put out new music and keep a fanbase and grow it as well, kids, parents alike love them and the music is an easy listen to sing along.

Gym Class Heroes: now they are not the typical punk or alt act but this song was everywhere but also fit into the skater counter scene as well , they played on warped dates as well.

Sum 41: this is so 90s movie like in every American pie teen type movie Superbad maybe but like I feel idk it had to be in every movie, more than just a Hollister band

Plain White Ts

This song is such a looking out the window song while it's like raining or something. another great song that like everyone knows or should know, a karaoke song, a bar song, a closing time like song, now the T's are like a one hit wonder in my mind but I feel like it might be for others but this song is a banger

Simple Plan

this song is so kid growing up staple regardless of whether someone is a country , pop fan or other because so relatable and maybe a little whiny but it is so like a growing up song.

New Found Glory: in my mind, this song is so vans warped tour and skater and counter culture, and I feel like they should tour more maybe?

LIT: like I know they are a one hit wonder type song, but I feel like everyone knows this song, like a cover band song, a karaoke song, a bar song, I hoe the band gets paid for this song because its everywhereee

Blink 182: saw them with like all time low and a day to remember, like a great show for sure, and they got huge like never though they would fill stadiums but they have been a huge staple in the genre so for sure

30 Seconds to Mars: thisis jared leto to me like love this song, so dramatic, so like panic at the disco before they went rock

Good Charlotte: this is so growing up zumiez song for me, like counter culture lifestyles I loved, even probably a poppy song too for like a Hollister too, like a perfect throwback for sure, and

The Offspring: a warped tour band as well for me

5 Seconds of Summer : like them cuz they brought back the pop rock bands, you look so perfect was cute, like the newer edgier one direction

All Time Low : Dear Maria is literally what I imagine when thinking about like a place like Zumiez, everyone loved a skater surfer type dude. obsessed

Rise Against: In my mind like a hot topic kinda band, love but when I was little probably a little afraid of the store....

Yellow Card only one I think could be the perfect acoustic wedding song

Michelle Branch: Truly is the female pop girl for me in the 90s/early 2000. her songs and like Torn were perfect for the romcom movies that are so nostalgic

Bowling for Soup is so Vans Warped tour, cute songs for sure, what a throwback

Nostalgia: When We Were Young

Tik Tok and this new group of kids growing up have reunited generations of music pasts. you look at the line up of bands 8 years ago and even 18 years ago, many bands have stood the test of time.

Music is passed around on the school bus, or your friends older siblings or even just going into a Zumiez or a Hot Topic or Spencers. It's a form of expression and definitely created a dedicated and passionate fanbase.

It wasn't just a playlist but a lifestyle. The skateboarding culture, tattoo and piercings expressions, fashion statements and more. There was rebellion to the cookie cutter lifestyle of the Hollister and Abercrombie and Fitch beach lifestyle.

The Superbowl is another event that brings back great throwback acts Madonna, Rihanna, Eminem, and others.  Besides bringing around well rounded and top 100 artists , there was a grit and angsty energy brought with pop punk.

With things back opening up with the shut down and everything, socializing is nearly back to where it used to be. Music is always something that I believe brings people together. Parents influence their kids tastes and friends do as well and that's probably why some bands have been passed down generationally. All those punk kids from school going against the grain, the default defiance, are grown up and parents now.

The music is relatable as well. Kids don't want to waste their time 'become a casualty of society'. I grew up with pop punk before I was a teenager, all insecure and weird. That translates then to now perfectly. You can go back to your old family home (if your parents hadn't redone your room) and see all the posters and old clothes and things with memories. Tangible memories.

Tours used to be there to promote an album release or new projects by an act but now artists are able to throw together a concert with more flexibility. Streaming and social media has changed how music is distributed. As big as tour are with all the costs attached to them, merch is a major driver and that is something that has not changed over time.

I am excited to see where the music industry goes and I hope to be there along for the ride. I have enjoyed working with 200+ tours so not that many compared to those who work with music corporately but that is where I want to be some day.

I have seen how much great energy can come from a dedicated and passionate fan base in a sold out show from Harry Styles to Third Eye Blind to Breaking Benjamin. I want to be a part of building that out for those nostalgia groups but also creating a fan base and showing around new music for up and coming artists as well. This feels like beginning of something with music but who knows. Anyways here is the music video for Feel Good Inc. A good throwback.
