5 Reasons Why EDC 2026 Was a Mess

Beside people thinking the faces stages were kinda funny and at times scary here are 5 things that summed up EDC 2026 this year!

1 Shuttles were slow to start Day 1

Felt bad, because these teams besides management tends to be contract and get the brunt of the frustration day of show. Drives still getting used to routes and traffic, staff getting their bearings and instructions down.

But fans are paying a lot of money for theses services and the organizers should plan accordingly, A lot of the lines probably were longer at the start and the end of the day, so just like any other show, leave a bit earlier to beat the crowd helps too

2 Crowd Crush: John Summits Set created huge crowd crush issues, like major issues....

Not only was his live stream immediately switched from 1hr to 15mns but in person huge crowd issues, shoulder to shoulder, incredibly unsafe.

It did seem to be planned ahead thinking fans would be split with BUNT and Tiesto at the same time, but I think they might all have different fan bases and things were set from the start. It has to be hard though with every stage divided by genre type  almost.

The livestream seems like a he said she said, with Summit saying he never promoted a livestream where Insomniac posted the set times,

John Summit tends to bring that type of crowd is what I've heard, the non EDM crowd, the unfamiliar with PLUR guys,

Whose responsibility is it to integrate newer EDM fans into the community and teach them the ways of PLUR? Not even in a dorky way just EDM seems to have a loving community and frat bros tend to not understand their limits, drink too much, take too much PEDs etc,

I get that people are young but dang, how much grace can you give them? Insomniac? Summit? John has been established now for quite a while for being so young, it feels like there's an unwillingness there, the fans are overall unkind, rude and affects other fanbases noticeably.

I guess if you ignore a problem long enough it will go away though right John? Hopefully there were no emergencies during that set...

Other artists at Kenetic had issues with crowds as well like the chainsmokers, and wooli, the location of Kinetic doesn't help, they almost should just open up the layout so everything isn't funneled into the stage

3 Stages: Wind 1 EDC 0
As always wind tends to be a factor for EDC being in the desert and Insomniac tends to be proactive always in this situation, closing down stages and notifying fans

Two stages were shut down for a sec then resumed later that night, issues avoided, racks of gates and portos were moving cuz of the wind, safety is paramount.

4 Shuttles halted because of wind Day 3

Feel bad for the shuttle team, they feel distanced from the festival teams so hope they weren't getting too many issues.

But it seemed like online wind effects were communicated by the fans and updates as well throughout the day. Hope flights weren't canceled and stuff

People were brutal responding to Coachella and Stagecoaches wind delays and shutdowns but not EDCs that's so crazy lol

5There was a rouge firework! but no one got hit!
Besides that, not too shabby for 30th anniversary.

You can check out reddit for personal anecdotes and such but just wind and John Summit seemed to be the issues.

I guess there was a VIP issue at Kinetic for the entrance where security couldn't scan folks in because of a scanner issue , creating crowding in VIP but hopefully that didn't last long.

Hope no one got hit by that stray firework
