BTS Makes a Statement: They Are Not Submitting to 2027 Grammys

BTS has chosen to not submit for 2027 Grammys nominations! love that for them because they have enough cache where they have the stats to back it up where they are a huge name bar none in terms of touring, social presence, fandom, and more.

You can be a casual listener of music and still be aware of who BTS is regardless of their catalog and the fact that they are a well known name in every day conversation just a shows their impact alone.

Award ceremonies in general have always have had conversation surrounding nominations, the whole, wining and dining of voters involving gifting and others. Awards are a clear cut way to prove a song or project has meret among the so called music community.

they best song, best album, best production, etc, you can see a little bit more behind the scenes with who helped on what project and it kind shines a light on a lot of talented and great group of people from engineers to audio techs to writers etc.

What I love about award shows is it does shine a light on talented players in the gam from behind the scenes to newer artists and hard working talented people.

I think BTS is doing something and creating a conversation that has always been quietly said about award winning organizations. That's what art is about, creating a conversation and evoting emotions.

categories being created involving categories would be celebrating and embraced years ago but is it truly just to throw BTS a bone so there isn't that big ticket item pressure with album of the year, song of the year etc. that fan service?

Are they really that much of a threat to the western media and music spaces? You can see BTS's award performances such as AMAs Grammys Billboard and see their behind the scenes recaps and you can see over the time their reception . fans have always talked about award shows using artists for nominations for their fans for the views but honestly there might be truth to that now.

similar to the World Cup music half time? while promoting SWIM BTS also was asked about the half time show for NFL and they said the quiet part out loud there to, saying they would be honored but haven't gotten asked, and talk about how people would receive them after Bad Bunny.

A jersey worn by member Jimin was sold for charity at $110k one of Christies highest auctioned items ever involving names such as Audrey Hepburn, princess Diana, Elizabeth Taylor etc. There is no denying the impact of BTS as a group categorically.

I wonder where an artists opinion on award shows change over the years, because of course no one wants a participation trophy but awards are a great goal to try for with all their hardworking and all.

artists have to see the behind the scenes of it all and that has to be exhausting in its self. music and albums made by artists are for the listeners and fans and with awards that is catered toward an award committee. the wining and dining of it all has to feel like I didn't sign up for this.

with artist who have a global presents and have a great listenership can quite literally just  say "I'm going to take my ball and go home". if am artists earns enough money on their own and enough reach, they don't really need an award organization as a springboard for their career anymore, they are great enough independently, globally as a unit.

etc.

the Grammys has since removed Dynamite and butter from their YouTube channel, I wonder who was getting that money from those videos..?
