2024 Alt Rock Songs of 2024: May 2024 thru August 2024

 

Below are the top 20 songs played may thru august in 2024. Pretty Similar to Amazon musics top alt songs of the year. 

What is different about radio plays is the fact that they have a lot of songs playing single use every day but they are the one hit wonders or the basic rock songs or legacy bands. The pink songs are the ones that stood out to me during this time period. 

Again, Hozier, had a banger year, Murder on the Dancefloor again, Papa Roaches song Light on, and Djo all both on Amazons. Judah & The Lion on there but not my favorite song of theirs, Loveeee take it all back. Side note Hozier had to be song of the summer for rock?

These are songs I loveeee from the rest of the radio plays in May to August! Felt more rock with this selection but also more pop in some areas? Like The Drivers Era is for sure pop and Myles Smith are so pop but booth songs are bangers. 

Other songs are 100% indie again which is fine but weird to umbrella pop songs on alt station but love learning bout new artists. and they both have tours coming up in 2025 so love that for the artists at least. 

Bring Me The Horizon was huge, Rainbow Kitten Surprise was good too, indie rock Jutes felt like a great fresh breathe of rock. Culture wars with Heaven was so indie but great summer vibe, Detroit sounds like a song that would play in a commercial or something
