Not going to pretend I am a movie savant even even a movie junkie when I am only familiar with a handful of the nominees but here were the winners and some of my guesses were correct
Maybe I need to watch Sinners because I saw all the promotion for F1 and thought it would win because music wise, social wise, and such I felt like it was advertised everywhere. Same with the kpop movie and it seemed to do well with all the halloween costumes and memes and tv and radio promo.
Ricky Gervais for stand up feels right with him being an actor as well and producer being so popular, Also Amy Poehler should have made sense. She is a huge actress in the scene and you always see her podcast interviews everywhere now, seems a little less buttoned up and free flowing conversation.
a lot of theses podcasts have different tones, where some are deep dives, some of introspective, some seem more traditional interview and conversation and some are provocative. It's really interesting seeing a podcast category in an established award show but maybe this is where the future traditional media will be, in terms of promotion and branding.
