throwback:Billboards hot 100 # 1 2016 songs

 

throwback to best performing singles of 2016!

Besides the regular top 2016 songs, my Spotifys also had some fun stuff,  honestly a majority of my top listens were throwbacks and would just be playlists thrown on to go for a run or just running errands. 

nearly all these guys are huge now, Biber is headlining Coachella, Adele just had a huge Vegas residency, I feel like still the chainsmokers are everywhere and probably don't have to put out any more new hits with Closer being massive.

Drake always does arena tours and probably will again next year, Rihanna has accomplished like everything in music already from the arena touring to festival headlining to the halftime show. 

Zayn is touring, Timberlake did an arena tour a bit ago, Sia for sure could do an arena tour again if she hasn't, she has way too many hits that are timeless I fear. 

Rae Sremmurd and Desiigner are TBD and not really sure where they're at as artist, maybe doing some one off shows I think. 

All these songs were on probably every radio station ever. or blasting everywhere at the beach bars. All these songs remind me of the summer. 

I think of The Chainsmokers, Ariana, Bieber, Shawn Mendes then like The Weeknd and  Drake. Sooo pop heavy 

 

These were my need to study in the library songs or need to drive in my car and forget about school songs for sure. My top Spotify list from 2016. 

These songs are so college to me, like obsessed, graduating, enjoying bothering my friends, trying not to think about class, not even knowing that college is so not real life. Eating fake meals, buying plants, going down to NYC. 

   

probably honestly first time using streaming, this year maybe? had the iPod classic with all my old songs for the gym, or running. Although a lot of the songs streamed were new artists I would randomly find. 

this had to be around the time TikTok was beginning with the end of vine and yikyak. Soundcloud was beginning to be huge. 

 

this has to be in the boom of the dance pop era then I think hip hop and stuff took over after this. 

The tech has always been evolving from the myspace days to Tumblr, to Soundcloud, to vine, to TikTok. probably forgot some parts in the evolution but feel like there's something new coming up.
