Tik Tok Here to stay

I want to say I am only writing this because I just want to see where these kids will be in 15 years but honestly, I think I am genuinely interested  in them. Young social media influencers and all those Tik Tok stars are definitely interesting.

Their individual stories and how much of a following they all have obtained probably in the past 1-2 years, they are definitely the new child actor star that everyone wanted to be 10 years ago.

I am for sure out of the popular demographic I believe, not being a teenager wearing all these crazy color cropped top clothes and such. Also not being obsessed with every bit of drama or tea that happens in real time. I don't have a twitter so I don't have that tether but Instagram, Facebook and podcasts take up the social media for me.

Oh also Tik Tok until it's banned or whatever is happening. It looks like the app will be alright since US companies have purchased basically the american data in Tik Tok company I guess and will be held be Oracle and Walmart I guess.

Now I wouldn't know one iota about having a huge social media following or constantly being watched I guess, but it looks like those famous actors and musicians get by alright. Makes you jealous of the popularity definitely but I'm sure there is a talent behind building a brand starting with just a 30 second video.

But fame is definitely crazy. These teenage Tik Tokers age shows for sure in their drama and fans. I forget sometimes they are all teenagers but every once in a while, they show their hand.

Right now I believe the drama is interesting until you see the how transparent they are, calling paparazzi on themselves, go to restaurants where they know fans will be, and participate in the drama online. PR is for sure a 24/7 job for them. I feel like fans are almost a reflection of the influencer they follow and these kids are aware of their following.

These teenagers know now how to almost weaponize their fandom for their personal vendettas and use their ride or die fans to stick up for them through thick or thin. It must be wild to be a normal teenager and suddenly gain this supposed fame. And now that they have money, they're in the business with actual adults in entertainment, hopefully they will learn quickly and understand the maturity of it all. There is money in brands but people will take their business elsewhere if the dramatics behind their 'brand' are damaging.

Anything is good press, good or bad, but when one person receives a reputation, that may stick to the layman out of the social media bubble. But then again, they are just kids. Kids shouldn't be expected to be adults but there has to be a maturity in building and owning a brand as well. They would normally be in the high school any other day but with this popularity, the drama happens in person as well as passive aggressive social media posts too.

I may be old but for now Instagram is where I spend most of my social media time. Facebook used to be where I would be updated with people from back from my hometown but now everything is political and targeted ads, and maybe from the election as well but just more adult conversations and heavier topics for sure.

Tik Tok I think I just view like maybe 5-10 people but that's about it, I like those dances, some of the memes, and even now the 'influencers' are doing ads and promotions there which isn't great. Even Instagram now everyone is political but I enjoy the memes, the fashion accounts and just seeing where everyone is from college and high school. So who knows, I may just be that old boomer or millennial on the social media sites these days, I definitely want to see where everything goes from here.

10 Things to Do in New England in the Fall

white and black no smoking sign

With this corona thing still happening and distancing still necessary, fall really is a good but fleeting time to be out and about here in New England. These are all the things to do in the fall minus all the sports happening right now with football and stuff starting up.

1. Outdoor bar patios:

Yes drinking is fun, but mainly it's the company, and corona definitely has helped with the creativity of all these patio options now. Even they're adding fire pits and those heat lamps too.

2. Hiking:

Perfect skies and the crisp air and the changing leaves are perfect and there are many difficulties of hiking around here with a perfect skyline. Maine is perfect for the fall as is New Hampshire.

3. Corn Mazes:

So as a kid literally this was perfect and honestly more adults should do this too. I've seen a few places where there are wine spots hidden inside some and those are a game changer. I''m not positive if all are back open yet but can't wait.

4. Go to a Wine Vineyard:

There is less of the hot summer nights but no cute jumpsuits and sundresses, and more flannels and burgundy outfits.  I'm assuming less crowded than the summer which is a plus.

5. Drive-in Movies:

I'm assuming those beach drive-ins aren't happening due to the temperature but drive-ins now a days are perfect. I'm assuming, I haven't been yet but hopefully they have good movies now, it's definitely a cute date night.

6. Apple Picking:

So honestly apple picking is really about who you are there with because if not, your just picking apples off trees whilst stepping on rotten ones for a good half an hour. Really cute photo op and I'm pretty sure most only do it for that.

7. Haunted Houses:

I'm a baby about all things horror so I only did these in college with my roommates but lots of fun, and hopefully they're still opening up safely with corona in mind.

8. Go to the beach:

Minus all the summer tourists, the beach is 10/10 with the perfect sunrises and sunsets, you can stroll along with your dog or just going for a run with the leaves changing and the nice crisp air. Doesn't get better than this.

9.  Have a S'mores and apple cider night:

Perfect fall nights add a fire pit and its perfect company for some s'mores and even something like a good hot chocolate or cider and throw together a movie night or something. Just throw on a projector outside in the backyard or just curl up in the living room for a rom com or a scary movie

10. Make an Apple Pie:

I honestly ran out of ideas to do in the fall besides like jumping into piles of leaves and doing random road trips but making an apple pie is perfect. Right after you pick all the apples, just make a pie or crisp and just eat it for breakfast, its perfect.

Normally concerts, clubs, vacations, and festivals like the Big E are the fall favorites but things definitely have changed.

Entertainment

I have been thinking about how things in life are happening and the variety of current events and its definitely changes perspective on a lot. There is a lot of bad happening in the world right now but also a lot of positives and a lot of beginnings as well.

Today I went to a friend from years ago baby show and basically a family friend and it's crazy how much time has changes. 15 years ago we were all just kids playing sports and just going to class and just doing homework and now people are getting engaged, having kids, buying houses and all that stuff. Growing up is crazy.

Yesterday was 9/11 and just looking around at all the stories and just random news blurbs just so emotional and real and I was just barely a kid. Even there are wild fires happening along the west coast, Netflix is having controversies with their content and other news is just news per usual. Oh and everyone talks about politics, I forget how that happens as you grow up. Things now a days are veering controversial so just the idea of having different opinions and conversations than others really isn't so much a thing. Oh also right now with the corona, definitely people have different views on stuff. When did things get so negative?

I can't wait till things begin to open up a little more, I miss concerts, and going on random day trips, and vacations. People are now moving out of cities and moving to cheaper places because jobs are remote now, it's interesting. I'm ready for change, hopefully for the better.I'm ready to go apple picking and ready to go out to bars and meet random people again.

Oh also apparently according to Barstool Friday Night Pints, Bob from Bob's Discount Furniture is worth $26 Billion? Thats while, just a small little Connecticut store that just sells alright furniture stuff and has candy and small snacks for the kids when the parents are shopping.....

After the Wayfair controversy stuff and all these random rich people turning out corrupt, geez, thats actually crazy. I still can't believe how much Apple, Netflix, and Amazon are all worth now. I should have bought stocks....

KUWTK: An End to an Era

The Kardashians are finally saying goodbye to their show Keeping of with The Kardashians and it's definitely an end to an era. Similar to The Jersey Shores, lots of media buzzing and such but who is going to replace the iconic family? One idea heard from Barstool's Chicks in the Office was Tik Tok family, The D'Amelios with Charli and Dixie D'Amelio and their parents Marc and Heidi.

Kind of a different claim to fame but still the same media affect, maybe even a more impressive start. Small town CT family turned Tik Tok social media famous family already settled in California. The entertainment industry must love their platform as well, Dixie and Charli alone have more than 100 million followers in Tik Tok alone with Charli being the most followed user on the whole app.

They have wasted no time partnering up for brand deals with companies and building their own individual portfolios branching from clothing brands, to music, to fashion shows, to television cameos. It would definitely be interesting to see the behind the scenes of their family or how it all started like a documentary.

So who know, I will project that the app Tik Tok won't be going anywhere fast, and the D'Amelio's as well.  Will they become the next Kardashian's? Who knows, maybe their newest Tik Tok personality/mentee Addison Rae will be the next Reality Show person. The D'Amelio's definitely will give the reality family a run for their money as the newest It family. More to come.

King of Staten Island

So as much as I really don't watch movies, this was a good movie. Like I think I love all Judd Apatow movies because I think all of his popular ones were basically my childhood, such as like Superbad, 40 Year Old Virgin and the Anchorman stuff.

This movie felt really specifically personal and other times relatable to just any other person growing up and becoming their own person. Now I know this is the supposed reality of Pete Davidson if he didn't find SNL, comedy and stand up, but this movie The King of Staten Island kind of seemed more relatable movie to all the stuck in the middle people. The rebellion even reminded me of preteen angst.

The movie was just about the family dynamic after a hardship. That is so relatable with the one parent/kids relationship with like divorce and fractured families. Kids can relate with the thinking that parents act selfishly breaking up a family and such. It kind of shown light on what the Staten Island experience would be like, so close to NYC but so far. I loved how it ended with going to Manhattan looking for opportunity and such. It kind of shows how people not only have the ability to move on after a tragedy but move forward from it as well.

Being a mid 20's person, growing up and going to NYC to get a dream job is basically what I want my life to be like. This movie kind of shows how just being stagnant and in that boring phase is tough but shows how going after and taking a leap can change things.

Totally brushing aside how amazing Bill Burr was and Maude Apatow were too....Great cast and maybe even could be a sequel type movie? It did sort of leave off open ended. I loved Pete Davidson from SNL just honestly at the beginning being the young guy in the hyper-competitive world of comedy. I feel like everyone mentioned will blow up in to different aspects of entertainment. Bill Burr definitely could do more acting roles or just be his stereotypical mass-hole persona. It's interesting listening to the promo interviews and podcasts from the cast giving their separate experience and prospective of the movie as well. Judd Apatow I thought gave Pete Davidson a great platform to tell his version of his life, and it definitely gave a peak into understand his story.

I Think I'm done with the Bachelor

So I never really watched the reality shows for the romance of it all but it was always kind of cool how out of all these girls or guys, two people find their person on this television show and all that. So I guess I was wildly misinformed because I think out of all the season that I have watched I think only one couple is still lasting today and they're married...

Becca and Garrett, the bachelorette from two years ago just recently split, they weren't married or with kids, just engaged for two years. And honestly the only reason why they met was because her fiancĂ© has previously split up from her, the season before for the runner up (who I may add, are still together, married and with a kid).

And the producers know how to get an emotional reaction from their audiences because every season I get invested into these people who are on my Tv screen for 2 hours a week. I was all rah rah for Becca but then again, they did sign up with it all..

I have no doubt there are certain pressures from the audiences and production to keep the illusion of a happily ever after, but what about pride and self respect? I think people underestimate their will to turn away from all of it, the petty cash and the free promotions that come from being on a reality show. I wouldn't say no. If I had the chance to be on a reality show, it honestly seems so simple, just take the emotion out of everything. Everyone always says they all are just shameless promoters and influencers, but hey, someone out there is buying there things, and they have the ability to make an insane amount of money off of it all. That's why everyone wants to be an influencer, like everyone shits all over the Tik Tok kids, and formerly, the youtubers...but they are literal kids who have an insane networth before they are in their 20's. People now a days, can choose how involved in social media they want to be and some can make a career out of it.

Imagine being paid hundreds of dollars to wear clothes companies send them for free, and different products that are never actually used. Honestly theres probably not a huge jump between a bachelor reject than a Kardashian, hell even they are seemingly needing a bigger audience and are attached at the hip with Addison Rae. It's all just random cycles.

I am now not really attached to those who go on the bachelor because really now the girls are my age and I knowww they don't want to get married unless they are straight from the bible belt. Also the guys, it kind of shows why they are still single going on these shows. Lately, none of the couples last and they just stay together for social media and such.

I think I am getting old though, because lately, that just seems like alot of work, Either that or I'm just insecure about an audience, a little of both. So Kudos to all those who go on reality shows and do their thing.
